How To Read A 223-Page Novel In Just 77 Minutes
Spritz is a company that makes a speed-reading technology which allows you to get through a mass of text, reading every word, in a fraction of the time it would take if you were turning the pages of a book or swiping through a Kindle.
The basis of Spritz concept is that much of the time spend reading is “wasted” on moving your eyes from side to side, from one word to the next. By flashing the words quickly, one after the other, all in the same place, eye movement is reduced almost to zero. All that’s left is the time you take to process the word before the next one appears.
The company is selling licenses for other companies who might want to use the technology in operating systems, applications, wearables, and websites. Obviously, the tiny screen of a smart watch instantly springs to mind. But the real revelation of Spritz is in trying it yourself.
Okay, so everyone seems to be hailing Lily Allen’s new song as a feminist anthem and if you wanna do that then that’s cool whatever it’s not for me to decide. But if you want a feminist song/video tackling misogyny and racism then you should definitely watch and listen to That’s Alright by Laura Mvula. Not only is it a good, catchy, singalong song that tells you it’s okay to be who you are, but the video itself demonstrates how black people in the media and entertainment industries are used as props, simple entertainment for white people.
I especially like when she gets to the chorus and she’s singing “Who made you the centre of the universe?” at the all-white audience. A really brilliant yet underrated song and video.
I LOVE HER SOUND

I am laughing unreasonably hard at this.
I am ASHAMED that it took me nearly one full minute to get it.
Great Barrier Reef authorities have just said YES to coal port companies dumping dredge waste inside this World Heritage Area — all to make way a coal ship superhighway through our Reef. Reblog if this outrageous decision does not represent you. This is a massive disappointment, but we cannot give up hope. Sign up here to make our movement bigger than ever and keep up the fight to #SaveTheReef: http://www.SaveTheReef.org.au
Please Sign the petition guys. So many creatures will be decreased dramatically or even become endangered if we don’t stop it. Also watch the video. It really gave an insight into what would happen if this went ahead.
like dugongs. they’re mad important and live on the reef
Hey, so GetUp! is deciding to take legal action against this travesty, and you can donate to their kick starter here
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority has caved to the pressure of the mining industry and the Federal Government. The agency charged with "the protection, wise use, understanding and enjoyment of the Great Barrier Reef in perpetuity" has allowed it to be sold out for short-term profits.
Late yesterday, they granted a permit to dump five million tonnes of dredge spoil inside the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.
This destructive project is now allowed to go-ahead - unless we make a last ditch effort to challenge it in court. Click here to learn more, and help fund the legal challenge to save our Reef:

WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE NOTES?? THIS IS SO IMPORTANT!!
Police brutality - The young man in this video has no shoes, no shirt, no belt, and his pants are unzipped. One of the cops has blue gloves on. This screams to me he was just searched. Doesn’t stop the cops from bashing his head into the wall when he can’t walk and leaving the young man with a permanent lump, chipped teeth, and brain injuries. He is dragged down the hall and sprayed with what looks like pepper spray. The cop with the gloves on looks down at the young man bleeding on the floor, and laughs, over and over again.

I’d call them animals, but I like animals."One bad apple" this happens at least once a week in the U.S.S.A. Quick, someone post that picture of the Boston police officer in full riot gear with his automatic military assault rifle bringing two gallons of milk to that poor family the Tsarnaevs were terrorizingJust look at that cop in the second gif. He looks right into the camera, and in the third gif you can see that whatever humanity he held died a long time ago.
I think this bothers people mostly because we are taught at such a young age that cops are supposed to protect us. You need help or assistance from the “bad guy” you call the police. And then as you grow older a lot of these cops become the “bad guys”. it’s terrible.
This is the current signature count for the petition to restore Net Neutrality. As you can see it has a very long way to go.
Come on people I know there are at least 64,000 of you on tumblr who haven’t signed this yet. Click here to do so
If you have already signed be sure to share the link so that the word will spread.
hey real talk for a second
the deadline for this petition is in THREE WEEKS
and it’s not even halfway to meeting the goal.
If it doesn’t meet the goal, IT’S OVER. THE PETITION IS REMOVED. THE END.
I know it might be a little annoying to take a whole two minutes out of your life to make an account and sign this, but that little annoyance pales in comparison to the fact that right now, MASSIVE CORPORATIONS NOW HAVE THE POWER TO CONTROL HOW THE INTERNET IS RUN
Please, DON’T sit back and think, “Oh, everyone else will sign it. I’ll just reblog.” No. There are literally THOUSANDS of people thinking the exact same thing. There’s a reason this post has almost 20,000 notes more than the number of signatures: It’s because people are liking and reblogging without signing it.
Don’t fall victim to the bystander effect. DO take this very, very seriously. The only requirement for signing is that you are 13 years or older. You don’t have to be a U.S. citizen to sign. So please, take the two minutes. Sign the petition. It’s the only hope we have to fix this.
Signal boost because this is the first I’ve heard of one that can be signed outside of the U.S. pleasepleaseplease do the thing.
Honestly I’ve been watching this petition since I signed it (around 80k sigs to go) and have been astonished at how slowly people have moved to sign it.
If you value your internet experience at all, it would do you well to make your voice heard and do something about it. Signing this petition isn’t the only thing, but it’s one step you could take.
